25th March Last Full Day in Oz

Another busy day playing the tourist but a bit more relaxed and less stressful than yesterday's travelling. We found out yesterday that relying on a phone to pay for things is all very good if the phone has charge but once it's run out of battery.... (I can just hear my Mum from the other side of the world giving a lecture on young people's over reliance on technology). As we were dabbing our cards/phones for payment all day when getting on and off transport unfortunately a phone run out of charge. Made worse when there wasn't the back up of a physical card available and paying by cash isn't an option. Anyway it all sorted itself out and no one had to walk back.

Playing the tourist. Just one of those pictures you have to get if you're done under.

Sydney Harbour Bridge in the day light.

We jumped on a ferry over to Manly for the afternoon. It's a lovely 20 minute journey passing the sights.

It's pretty impressive. We walked around it, through it and under it - restaurants and bars surrounded it and a Chinese couple were in full wedding regalia having pictures taken on the steps.

Last ditched attempt to get rid of strap marks! We had a lovely afternoon snorkeling on Shelly Beach - just a short walk along from the main Manly beach. Freddie made the comment that he thought the snorkeling was better than on the Barrier Reef!!

With the amount of suncream we've used over the last 8 weeks I'm surprised there are any strap marks. Slip, Slap, Slop! As they say over here.

A Water Dragon just chilling out by the beach. We had wild turkeys on the beach as well. These would occasionally nip in and peck through your belongings if left unattended. Ian could've had a full time job shooing them away.

On our ferry journey back I managed to take a few more photos showing the city in the background.

We'd definitely recommend a stop for at least a few days in Sydney - not so sure about the rest of the east coast. But we've only scratched the surface of what this huge country has to offer. New Zealand definitely been our favourite country.

Tomorrow we start our return journey back to the UK. Due in to Singapore in the afternoon and guess what? Yep!! Storms and rain forecast 😂.
