6th January Galavanting in Brighton

Ian headed off early this morning to work on a boat in Ipswich leaving Amy and I to have a girl's day out.

Breakfast and then off and out to Bluewater for a quick sortie.

Spotted in a shop window. What will they think of next?

Then it was off to Brighton. A nice ride down in clear, dry weather to Jane's. A quick stop for a cuppa before heading out on a walk along the sea front into main Brighton for tea.

Some interesting sculptures - here we were trying to replicate the actions but with little success.

They've got some odd houses down by the beach.

Afternoon tea for three - delish. Kept us full for hours. We were so full Jane made us walk twice the distance as her navigation is as good as mine. One benefit of her navigation was that by being down The Lanes we didn't end up in a dried river bed hacking through bamboo as has happened with my dodgy navigation previously.

With so much walking we had to stop for refreshments - cocktails fitted the bill.

Then an evening in the Secret Comedy Club based in a basement. Three acts kept us thoroughly entertained and laughing throughout the performance. We'll go there again.

We had a good laugh. Glad we didn't sit in the front row 😄.

With the drizzle just starting to turn into rain we managed to walk back to Hove for dinner without getting drenched.

We finished off the evening reminiscing about Top of the Pops and music of our era. We were educating Amy about the music of our time. I think Amy may need counselling after being subjected to our caterwalling and raucous laughter. Prefab Sprout and Midge Ure among the favourite renditions 😅.

A lovely day as always with Jane ☺️. Looking forward to our next girl's night sometime in the summer.
