18th January Still freezing!

Not much hurkle-durkling today! After breakfast I had a nice chill reading my Jack Reacher story (nearly finished) and then decided to make my way over to Livingston retail outlet.

The journey there was in -4C with the road right outside Peter's being the worst, but at least we can chuck the salt about. Unfortunately the windscreen wash didn't squirt for the whole journey despite the heaters being on. This meant it was necessary to stop several times to clean the windscreen. The low sun made it quite dazzling at times.

Once at Livingston retail outlet, a mixture of a designer outlet centre and Bluewater, I parked in the sunshine and headed to Halfords for deicer. I also stopped off for a coffee - more points for using a refillable cup 😁.

After pottering around the shops I returned to the car to unload some purchases and checked on the windscreen wash. It worked!! So I kept squirting to empty the half and half mixture of screen wash and water and filled it with full strength. Hopefully tonight it won't clog up again.

Back to Peter's I've been making good progress on my knitting and this evening we have ventured into the plumbing world. The bath mixer tap doesn't seem to be producing the same amount of hot water as the sink. Peter suggested that there was a thermostatic valve under the bath so with our remote plumber, (Ian on video chat) we've started to address the issue. However, as no Allen keys of the correct size have been located so it's going to be a job for tomorrow.

I'm off to meet up with John, my nursing flat mate of yesteryear, for coffee in Perth tomorrow morning. About an hour's drive from here so I'll be having a busy morning.
