17th January Chilly Conditions 🥶

Freezing conditions continue with local roads very icy. So a spot of hurkle-durkling seemed in order 😀.

Luckily Peter has a one of those large yellow salt boxes nearby so if the roads get too icy we can go and scatter salt about. As it was pretty nippy this morning we waited for it to warm up before venturing out. So Ian had time to fit a handle on one of the kitchen units, which for some reason hadn't been attached, and realign a shelving unit in the downstairs loo which was definitely not level.

We wrapped up well and headed out in -4°C to return a pack of laminate flooring and floor tiles which weren't needed. It was so cold the windscreen wash had frozen - probably due to Ian diluting it a bit too much when he topped it up yesterday. It's now back to full strength.

Later this evening Peter and I drove Ian to the airport and then headed back for dinner and board games. We played a sketch game with one category that meant players took it in turns to draw something to be identified by others. Not easy when you had to do it blind folded (well we pulled our jumpers over our heads)!! In case you're wondering that's a lighthouse! Some interesting drawings 😀.

Tomorrow I think I'll be trying out the local retail park in Livingston.  Time for a bit of retail therapy.
