It was dry, fairly warm and I was carless so it was a hike up to Sainsbury's with my rucksack and a few bags. I went with my shopping list but I have a tendency to spot things that aren't on it so the additional bags were precautionary (and ended up being used).
After a bit of a wait for the scanners to be restocked (definitely worth the wait to avoid the check out queues) first stop was to look for an extra large chicken (turkey is not a fav in our household). I ended up having a chat with a lady also on the same mission as we rummaged to the back of the chiller to locate the birds with a sell by day of 27 December. Result!
With a variety of cheeses and lemon curd added to my purchases (homemade lemon cheesecake will go down well some time over the Christmas week) I dodged the queues and headed home.
This afternoon I've been starting to look at places to visit whilst we're in New Zealand. Plenty of places that Ian and I haven't been to before and some worth another visit. Hobbiton (from Lord of the Rings) has been suggested but at the moment I'm not convinced it's my cup of tea as I've seen the films but I'm not really a big fan. In comparison I like Harry Potter books and films much more and to date we've not made the trip to Harry Potter World yet.
Ian's around tomorrow so we're planning on a trip to West Malling in the morning - hopefully we'll find somewhere to park.
