Unfortunately the bloke doing breakfast must've been half asleep as he left the croissants and bread cooking for a bit too long 😅. Luckily we had the ones that were golden rather than incinerated!
No rainbows today as the majority of our journey to Calais has been wet and dull. Rolo has not had this much rain since we were last home - now a sparkling car.
We arrived at the port at 3.15pm for a 3.50pm crossing and we weren't sure if the P&O ticket checker was joking or not when he said we'd have to go on the next crossing. Fortunately a bit of sweet talking and we were allowed through. We were pretty impressed to have left at 7.30am this morning and driven just under 400 miles to arrive just a bit late for check in.
Our crossing was on a fairly new ferry which has some nice outside seating (too cold to use it today) and Christmas decorations. Only downside was the coach load of French football supporters who were working their way through their duty free. But luckily they moved themselves to another part of the boat after we left Calais on a very smooth crossing to Dover.
