A few pretty houses along the main road through the town.
The most lively thing in this village was a fountain - Font de Dalt. Not even a cafe or bar open as it looks like most of the houses are shut up for winter - possibly second homes.
Tucked away up some windy roads was a quaint church. Sadly all the churches we've come across are locked - unlike the churches in Cyprus.
Then we went on through the hamlets of Vilaut, Pedret and Pau before we ended up in Vilajuiga where we found a cafe for a cafe con leche - served with a biscuit! Sitting in this road side cafe we spotted signs for a castle so afterwards went on to investigate.
Castell de Quermanco in the distance. We saw signs and it looked like a good 45 minutes walk so we thought we'd return on another day.
As luck would have it we kept driving and found a road that went very close to it. Not an opportunity to be missed.
We had a nosey round as much as possible but the main ruins were locked or inaccessible as they were overlooking a steep cliff.
After our detour to see the castle we headed back for late lunch and a rest before heading out to Roses to get information on what's going on locally.
We took the bikes as it would be quicker and we'd easily get there and back before it got dark. Tourist information was busy but we've got some details of a Chestnut fair in Roses tomorrow evening.
It's starting to blow up outside. We can hear the wind whistling around and the bench moving around. Ian's been out to secure it otherwise it could get blown off the balcony! Hopefully it'll die down by tomorrow for us to go on a bike ride.
