So if this is an empty page I won't be surprised as this is now the third time I'm rewriting this so it's now going to be mostly pictures as I'm fed up with writing the same thing again!
Today's trip out was to Castell de Montgri which overlooks Torroella de Montgri south of L'Escala. About 40 minutes away from the apartment.
After a good hour we arrived. We had secretly been hoping for a road out the back with a bus service back to town and a coffee shop - no such luck😅.
360° views from the top. Well worth the climb and the dodgy stairs to get to the ramparts of this 13th century castle. It was never finished and I'm not surprised - the workers were probably exhausted from the walk up to work.
After our walk back down, with a few geocaches on route, we walked around Torroella de Montgri. A few old buildings but not much else.
A lovely view of the castle from the town.
We ended our day by driving to Estartit where Ian and I did some of our scuba diving training when we first met. Down memory lane. The town has certainly developed quite a bit and the marina is now huge. There's even a bit of a coast path making it easier to see the islands which are part of a nature reserve. Some great diving memories 😊.
