The bikes were just what we wanted - needing a bit of TLC but roadworthy. Chris kindly put them in the back of his people carrier (we could probably have got them in Rolo with the roof down but it might've been a squeeze😄), and brought them down to us. A few cups of coffee and a natter later he headed back to continue his gardening and we had a look at the bikes.
The bike mechanic at work. A few inner tubes, pump, bells and locks needed and then we'll be ready for a ride.
By the time we'd (well, Ian) had sorted out the bike requirements the wind was picking up. Back to the apartment we picked up all the towels that had blown off the drier and stacked up chairs which were blowing about.
This afternoon we took a trip to Figures to follow the Dali route and Historic route around the town. After stopping at the pharmacy to sort out Kate, who unfortunately had been bitten by mozzies and reacted badly (we're talking blisters, swelling and inflammation). The pharmacist suggested antihistamines, hydrocortisone and 50% DEET which we were already using but more supplies were required.
This art installation was very effective. The design on the floor reflecting Dali on to the silver pole.
We tried a new treat with our coffee. Farto pastries on the right - the cheap price and the name did it for us 😅.
Then we continued on our walking route discovering more bits of Figueres.
Home, via Decathlon to pick up our bicycle supplies, and then dinner a la Paul and Kate. Then we finished the evening with Spanish pralines and an energetic game of cards.
I think we're heading over the hills tomorrow for a trip out. Fingers crossed that it'll stay dry.
