16th October Off on a Cruise

An early start! We had to get up, have breakfast and get down to the harbour by 9am. We've been used to taking it easy and breakfasting about 9am so it was a novelty being up early 😀.

We boarded our 'cruise' at the Santa Margarita harbour in drizzle. No sitting on the top deck on our journey to Cadaques.

Despite the drizzle we had a lovely trip to Cadaques, which is north of Roses. There was a bit of excitement when the sea got a bit lumpy and a wave came flooding through the interior deck. Luckily we kept our feet dry.
Coming into Cadaques.

It was market day. Paul bought a smoked sausage for tomorrow's lunch.

A novel way to do your shopping. They had bought their fruit and veg and then carried it up the ladder to put in their van.

Kate and I were equipped for the rain.

It was dry on the way back so we sat on top for our return journey.

After lunch we decided on a visit to Castello d'Empuries. Paul was in charge of navigation - the map for our trail didn't necessarily match what was actually there so we had a fun time finding our 21 walking points.

When we were here last week there weren't piles of washing everywhere at the public washing bath! This week it's part of an art trail.

The convent.

We didn't see this when we visited last week. Our walking trail took us to different parts of the town.

Ian's turn to navigate. The Basilica in the distance.

We all had a turn on the aerial runway.

Kate's turn.
Not so easy in a skirt!

After our tour around Castello d'Empuries we headed back for dinnerand finished our evening with an Escape room game. Certainly got our brains working!
