28th August Autumnal Day

Blimey it's a bit chilly! I think winter is nearly upon us but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say it's been autumnal today. Definitely a jumper day.

I've spent most of my day tackling the stag. It has taken a bit of jiggery pokery as I've had to unwind a few times when my counting hasn't been up to spec. Juggling about 6 different balls of wool to get the colours weaved in has been a challenge as well especially when Rosie, the dog, is ready to bounce on any escapee ball of wool. It would soon find it's way into her basket along with all her other treasures. Mum's slippers are frequent visitors to her cosy nest.

We did venture out into the chill this afternoon to walk Rosie. The walking area has now significantly increased now the fields have been cleared.

Doesn't she look innocent? Just before she went off rolling in whatever took her fancy. At least it wasn't fox poo as that has its own unique pong 😬.

Found a puffball mushroom about the size of a football. Decided to not touch it bearing in mind the recent Australian deaths from eating poisonous mushrooms.

Mum has been a bit energetic this afternoon. As well as our walk she made her legendary meringues for tea (yummy!) and when we got back from our walk she mowed the lawn. I think everyone is mowing more this summer than normal because of the amount of rain. Oh well, mustn't grumble. At least it's lush and green and not dried to a crisp.

Off up north tomorrow to help Amy's bridesmaid with some DIY for the week. We might as well be inside as the temperature is a bit cooler this week. With my winter clobber back in Kent I'll be layering up with vests, t-shirts and whatever I've got to keep warmπŸ˜€.
