26th August Packing and Cleaning

We had several bursts of heavy rain during the night so that's something we won't miss 😀. The sound is like a combination of a tap dancing seagull on speed and a shed load of acorns being dropped on the roof. I think I could devise a scale of rain based on what it sounds like .... 🤔. A job for when I'm lounging in the Spanish sun.

So the aim of today was to pack everything needed for a week's DIY and a few months in Spain. Bearing in mind we have Ian's CCF kit (3 bags worth and additional boots) plus the normal stuff that we have to get in Rolo, tomorrow morning, when we get to transfer it all in the car, will be entertaining.

This morning we made our way up to the owners lounge for our last coffee and read of the papers. Well, it was raining so a walk wasn't on the cards.

Back after an hour or so the rain had stopped. Ian had the urge to give Rolo's roof a bit of a scrub so we were balanced on chairs wielding a nail brush and the kitchen washing up brush, each with a bowl of soapy water. The yellow lichen type patches that Rolo had been sporting are now no more 😁.

This afternoon Ian went up to watch the England v Fiji match on the big screen (not happy with the score when he returned). In the meantime I defrosted and cleaned the fridge and just had to eat the last Nobbly Boobly found lurking at the back of the freezer section! I also went through all our food to check expiry dates and opened packages to ensure that we have a usable supply for when we return.

A quiet evening in watching several of the finals of the World Championships and working on my crochet. Last tidy and pack up in the morning before heading over to Mum and Dad's for a few days.
