We took advantage of him still being here and took the dogs for a walk off their leads. I was a bit concerned that they may not come back to us or run off. It was quite funny when they were off their leads as they kept stopping and looking back, as though to check we were still following. All made it back together so I feel more confident about taking them out.
Back to base we sorted out Rob's headlights (put the bits on the headlamps to deflect the beam for driving abroad) and found out that the magnetic UK badge didn't stick on the back of his car - the boot's not metal! So he was going to have to get another on his journey to the ferry.
Anyway everyone was eventually up, breakfasted, packed and in the car by 9am. Then they were off on their holiday leaving Ian and I in charge.
Later in the morning we walked into Henley in Arden to check out what's there. Looks like the Ice Cream shop is a popular location - one to be checked out during the week.
Luckily we only had a bit of drizzle on the way back and for the rest of the day it's stayed dry. This afternoon we had a bit of a concern when a strange dog turned up at the front door. A quick message confirmed that it was a neighbour's dog who often called by. My only thought is how did he get in as currently the ones who live here don't get out? 🤔
Ian has been catching up on all the lost sleep from the last 5 weeks - lots of snoozing this afternoon. So a quiet afternoon spent mostly decalcifying and cleaning the coffee maker (took ages to work out how to do it despite the instructions) and evening. Although when Ian was playing with the dogs in the garden he managed to throw the ball over the fence so had to go hunting in the field to get it back. All recovered now and ready for playing with tomorrow 😀.
