20th July Wet then Sunny

Back to Wales and the van today, leaving Mum and Dad's mid morning. It had been dry at the start of my journey only to turn very dark and then torrential rain as I drove on the Newtown bypass. The rain then continued on and off all the way until I started to approach Aberystwyth.

A quick shop at Morrisons in Aberystwyth and then it was so sunny and hot Rolo's roof was opened for the final bit of my journey to the van. It's continued to be lovely all afternoon and I'm sitting outside writing this at 7pm.

Driving to my van was a bit of fun as the  newly put in barrier that hasn't worked since it went in was finally working. No idea who put it in but my fob was useless as there's nowhere to fob! If you're the only person in the car you have to stop, get out and enter a PIN on the left side of the barrier. Not a very good design. I feel the urge to let the powers that be that someone needs to have a rethink 😜.

After lunch and a bit of washing I checked the tide tables. As it was low tide at 4.30pm I walked along the beach and in the sea (Pauline you'd be impressed 😃) into New Quay.

First jellyfish that I've spotted this summer.

With the tide out so far a bar of scrunched up sea shells is exposed. A nightmare to walk on but I'm sure my feet will be silky smooth after being subjected to it 😃.

The harbour was totally dry with only the dolphin spotting boats creeping in at the end of the harbour wall to drop off and pick up customers. I didn't see any dolphins from the harbour wall today.

Back via the owner's lounge for a seaview,  coffee and a read of the paper.

As tomorrow's forecast is reasonable I think I'll walk into New Quay for the Friday morning market. I might find a few bargains.
