1st July Family Photos

A bit of intense day today sorting through boxes and boxes of old photos and paperwork. My head is now a wash with the Hawkins and Shattock (Dad's side) and Ockey and Barrell (Mum's side) family trees. Not easy with 4 families and multiple generations to work out who is who. Made more tricky when families pass down the same name - Frederick and Minnie are popular on one side and Edward on the other.

Anyway we're nearing completion with only a few more bags of photos to go through which we hope to finish tomorrow.

Telegrams and congratulation cards to celebrate my arrival 😀.

With so many letters and bits of paper to sort through I think Mum's going to be busy for a while. Mum has kept my sister's 1st and 2nd birthday cards, there are parish magazines which were kept if any of us were mentioned, she has a school report for my brother (perhaps mine were so bad they weren't kept😅), newspaper clippings, wedding invites.... you name it, Mum kept it! It's been a real treat going down memory lane and I think Mum and Dad have enjoyed looking through photos. Just so many!

So looking forward to the last few photos tomorrow.
