26th April Beach Walk Work Out

After breakfast I sat out on the balcony working on a project I think I started this time last year. I thought it was time to finish it.

Yes, I still need slippers in Spain πŸ˜€

Late morning we headed off on our daily morning walk which had a bit of a twist today. As we started walking Ian complained that his shoe was rubbing the top of his big toe. He tried to check out the offending shoe to see if there was a rough bit but after walking to the beach it was still giving him gip.

He was going to walk barefoot along the prom but I suggested walking on the beach. Well.... off we went but soon realised that it's much harder walking in soft sand than on the pathπŸ˜…. My legs were certainly getting to feel like they were at the gym.

Ian veered off towards the path and I thought he would continue along it while I kept on the beach route. He didn't! I merrily continued trudging through the sand to the end of our normal walk only to find a distinct lack of a husband! A quick phone call tracked him down to sitting on a bench where he'd veered off the beach. So we ended up meeting half way with Ian barefoot. I'll have to remember this tactic of his to avoid a walk.

After lunch we went on our second walk of the day to one of the local supermarkets for a few supplies. We spotted a new addition to the normal chicken range seen in UK shops.

Anyone for chicken feet? What recipe do they get used in?πŸ€”

Today we actually got round to taking the chairs out of Rolo.

Much easier getting the chairs out through the roof

I had an urge to have scones to go with our PG Tips this afternoon. Despite not having any scales I managed to convert recipe measurements into tablespoons and the butter pack handily had 25g markings. We ended up with 2 each - delicious with butter and jam.

Despite not really having much sun today, it stayed warm until about 7.30 pm. So the French windows stayed open longer than usual tonight.

Fingers crossed that Ian's feet are ok tomorrow, as we might head up the coast for a bit of a coast path walk tomorrow.
