Fortunately the fog cleared fairly quickly so we set sail after breakfast to Strangford Lough. It was also pleasantly warmer than yesterday so no coat, gloves or fleece face covering today.
We had a lovely sail all the way and timed our entry to the Lough with the rising tide. The tide was stonking along with us going over 8kn at one stage. Definitely not a place to be against the tide.
The Lough is about 5 miles long and we're pretty much at the top having picked up a visitor's mooring at Strangford Lough Yacht Club. I'd emailed the yacht club a few days ago to see if there were any visitor moorings so had details of where to pick it up. We were pleased it was available as it's first come first served.
It was a bit too breezy to go ashore in our tender and it's been raining. Hopefully the weather improves overnight as we plan to head into Belfast by bus in the morning. We'd like to go to the Titanic Quarter to see the Titanic exhibition. Also we need milk and bread. We couldn't seem to get UHT milk in southern Ireland for our store cupboard and we've just run out of our fresh milk. It'll be instant cappuccino for breakfast.
