25-26 May - Hot Over Here

Much like the UK is currently having, we're baking over here on the Mediterranean coast.

There has been a steady increase in the numbers gravitating towards the beach. Although how they sit out there under the scorching sun is beyond me. I find 5-8pm, suitably slathered in Factor 50 the best time to enjoy a bit of sunshine without the detrimental frazzling effects.

There's a volleyball tournament that's gathering quite alot of interest and a fair few spectators.

I'm not sure if the sport's popularity is due to the scantily bikini clad female participants or the muscular male competitors, who wear a sensible shorts and occasionally t-shirt ensemble. The thought of getting a sunburnt bottom (bikini bottoms don't seem to cover much posterior flesh) or sagging boobs (string bikini tops are not built for supporting the larger chested females) doesn't appeal to my younger self ... or even my older self!😂.

Anyway at 5.30pm yesterday it was still 31C!! 🥵

Today we enjoyed our daily walk along the prom before it got too hot for the day. Then we enjoyed lunch with friends until late afternoo.

Back on the balcony this evening we've been trying to work out what a worker on the roof opposite was doing. At first we thought he had a phone on a selfie stick taking photos but then realised it was a broom!! He was up there for sometime waving it around so it could have been something to do with his TV signal 🤔. Anyway, suggestions are welcome 😄.

I've been working on a crochet set that I was given. A beginners set which is not the easiest to understand. I'm going to need help from a confident crocheter as the petal instructions seem to be written in hieroglyphics - I haven't a scooby as to what they mean. No worries though as I'm still making the bits I can - a few leaves and the flower centre so far.

With the way the heat is going it's likely to be a quiet day tomorrow with mini golf in the evening. Not played since last year so it's usually a bit of a challenge.
