After dropping Ian at the station to start on his marathon journey down to Portsmouth to start his 3 weeks on Dartmoor with cadets (loads of train cancellations and 4 changes!), I drove myself down to Hove to meet up with Jane and Claire for our Dua Lipa evening.
Jane had organised an amazing sushi lunch for our first train ride, washed down with champagne, and then it was strawberries on the second leg. Luckily the trains were air conditioned and cool in the 30°C+ temperatures.
The tube was a totally different experience! Absolutely stuffing and muggy. No wonder there were so many messages about drinking lots of water and looking out for each other. It was so refreshing to get out onto the platform and get some breeze!
Anyway once arriving at Wembley Stadium we stopped for some ice cold drinks before making our way to the stadium - an arch now the 2 towers have long gone.
After our 2 hour extravaganza we made a quick exit to
get the last train. A bit of jogging, mad dashes between platforms and we made it. Back to Hove by 1am after a bit of croissant tasting on route 😄.

This morning after breakfast I headed back in time to join in with the walk down to the Big Lunch.
A lovely community event with everyone bringing along their picnic and listening to several bands and singers. At least we had a refreshing cool breeze today 😃.
