1 April - April Fool's Day

How many April Fool's jokes did you spot today? We spotted the miniature steam railway at Romney and Hythe putting in a bid to the Channel tunnel for a steam railway service - decision day on 31 February next year!

Do you remember years ago the programme on the spaghetti harvest with spaghetti growing on trees? There were some we spotted today which could easily be true so it'll be interesting what the 10 o'clock news highlights this evening as they usually have a section at the end to highlight the day's tomfoolery.

Today's activities have included two walks, a catch up with Pauline and her puppy, which seems to have doubled in size since I last saw him before we went to Spain and a potter in West Malling. Where I can't believe that they've now put parking meters up. It's still free for the first hour but now you have to register your vehicle and display a ticket! I suppose the advantage is that you can now park up to 4 hours, when previously it was only an hour, but you just have to pay for the privilege.

Our second walk took us round the back towards Preston Hall. I hadn't been down that way for a while. It's now retirement apartments - very different to the big house that I used to go to for meetings when I was a manager over at Medway Hospital about 25 years ago.

Anyway, tomorrow it looks a bit warmer than today which is always a bonus. Ian and I are looking forward to meeting up with friends for an afternoon walk and dinner.
