15 June Family Day

A bit of a panic stations this morning when Peter's flight arrived 15 minutes early. Luckily the escalators were out of action at the airport meaning everyone had to queue up to use the 3 lifts (seems a bit silly not to have the option of stairs). This meant Peter was a bit delayed exiting to get to the railway station (easy pick up point - thanks Rob for the tip 😄).

Once collected we headed off for breakfast and then started our meander over to Mum and Dad's for the day. Midway we stopped off in Telford retail park to stock up on clotted cream, scones and pudding for later.

Tesco had a Summer event with free tastings and competitions.

Freddie managed to win a Tesco shopping voucher!

We had planned on a Costa coffee but after our food and drink sampling we didn't need to. So back in the car for another hour before our next stop at the local fish and chips shop to grab lunch for everyone.

You know when you're in the countryside when a local pulls up outside the fish and chip shop in his tractor, comes in wearing his wellies and flat cap and orders his lunch!

After lunch Freddie found himself a job in Ian's absence (off on a sailing weekend). He managed to fix Mum's hoover which was sounding like a lawn mower. It now just purrs!

Luckily we'd brought along the hoover to help Mum get the house spick and span for the kiwi arrivals in a few days time. Amy enjoys hoovering (definitely not got that from me 😂).

Later in the afternoon we had a bit of a photoshoot with Peter at the helm. He managed to capture some good shots after we rearranged the furniture in the conservatory to fit everyone in. Once he downloads them and pings them over I can show them off.

Anyway, back to the hotel for the evening and then a day tomorrow having a cousin reunion - hopefully we'll get all 8 of them in a photo.
