2nd November Geocache Morning

Our forecast today was for a dry start and rain later (although not quite what you're all having to cope with back in the UK with Storm Ciaran and storm force winds). This meant it was sensible to get out this morning and then batten down the hatches later.

We decided on a road trip and geocache hunt on a circular route around the Pau area, right up as far as Garriguella. Going through the villages and towns everything was very quiet now it's out of season.

Our geocache route was part of a string of points on a trail we'd started with Paul and Kate a few weeks ago. This time we took Rolo.

This trail was on a minor road which meant it was easy for us to park up and go in search of the geocaches.

We had a walk along a path near this river bed. Reminded us of our bamboo trail with Paul and Kate - Ian was quite relieved that we stuck to the path and avoided any fighting through the undergrowth.

Of the 8 geocaches we went in search of we were only unsuccessful in discovering 1. You never know we might try again another time to find it, as you can often get hints from others who do find it.

We decided to finish our hunt when it started to drizzle and drove back via Mercadona for a spot of grocery shopping. Once back at the apartment and everything put away I decided on a spot of cooking - flapjacks today. With the inclement weather they were perfect with an afternoon cuppa and a good book.

This evening we've had horizontal rain and wind so the reservoirs should be filling up a bit. The locals have been worried about the lack of rain this year so they'll be glad to have had some, although it's supposed to be dry again from tomorrow. Ideal for us to have a trip out if we don't do washing - depends on how we feel and the state of our underwear supply 😄.
