Off along the prom we were actually able to see more than 100m today after yesterday's mist. First stop was the water board where it was worked out that some vital paperwork had been left in the apartment. So we'll be back there again soon.
Then on to the electricity board where we abandoned our wait after about 10 minutes as the queue to send a customer advisor hadn't reduced. Hopefully we can sort out our query online. After that we went in search of Deutsche Bank to find out where our nearest fee free cash point is located. Successfully found!
As it was late morning and getting hot, we ducked into the McDonald's for a coffee and cookie. A lovely cool interior with air conditioning.
After cooling off we headed back, passing some pretty impressive sand sculptures. Many have candles and water falls so we're going to return one evening to see what they're like in the dark.
The wind picked up as we walked back with our hats nearly taking off on a few occasions. Our dip in the sea before lunch was also entertaining as it involved navigating crashing waves on the way in. While Ian went off snorkeling I spent the time floating around and having to jump over waves. It quite reminded me of holidaying with the children when we jumped waves and had a blow up crocodile to float about on in calmer seas 😄.
With the wind still blowing there were occasions when it felt like we were being sand blasted as we dried off. Was a relief to get back off the beach!
Lunch with the breeze saw my salad making a bid for freedom as bits of lettuce kept departing from my plate. Made eating a bit of a challenge at times but we enjoyed the canal view by staying on the balcony.
This afternoon, a we took Rolo to one of the local supermarkets, Mercadona, to stock up the fridge. Plenty to keep us fed and watered until the end of the week. Then it was time to relax with a cup of tea and my Dick Francis book, as the wind eventually lessened and stopped by 6.30pm.
