13th April Never Straight Forward

After a morning out visiting and housework we got down to tackling the laminate flooring in the lounge. Unfortunately what at first had seemed fairly straightforward ended up being a bit of a nightmare.

Out in all weathers. Brilliant sunshine one minute and then hailstones the next!

At one stage we had nearly got 2/3 of our way across the lounge, only to have to take it up and start again when a fault was noticed on a 'plank'. Then we had nearly got back to the same spot when it became obvious that the flooring by the French windows was definitely higher than the rest which caused the flooring to bow 😬. So up the flooring came again and Ian got on with chipping away at concrete to get the flooring level.

Levelling the floor

By this stage Freddie had returned and immediately got into quality control πŸ˜…. A few more bits of flooring lifted up and relaid to his satisfaction.

We're all involved πŸ˜€

By 9pm we thought we'd better stop in case the deaf neighbour could hear the multi tool being used. Although I expect she thought it was Amy using the liquidiser or our TV being a bit loud (we can hear what programmes she's watching early evening as she has them on loud, before we have our TV on - she's definitely a Pointless viewerπŸ˜…).

Anyway there's only a few more rows to go now for tomorrow and the frustrating bit along the wall - it's not level!
