18 May - Local Lunch

As we were out for lunch we thought we'd best get a dose of exercise in the morning, as later on in the afternoon we probably wouldn't feel like it.

With it looking fairly bright we headed out towards the beach in shirtsleeves but had to make a return trip for extra layers as it was a bit nippy!!

Out on the beach today there was a plough and a couple of workmen getting the lifeguard towers in position. They've been sitting on the edge of the beach by the prom so needed to be dragged across to their position and dug in. There's now about 6 ready for the start of the lifeguard season on 1 June.

They've also upgraded the floating swimming pontoons out in the bay. Previously they've been a wooden floating construction so these look a bit snazzy with a sun brolly ready to go up!

After our regular iced coffee sitting outside with a sea view, we had to return in time for our 1pm lunch. Just as well we'd made a move as there was a dark cloud looming over us and a few splodges of rain. Luckily we dodged any further rain.

We enjoyed a very filling lunch in our local, La Bola, with friends from Kent who are returning tomorrow. By 4pm we thought we'd best leave otherwise I think they'd be getting us to wash up! With a dreary afternoon it's been a Harry Potter DVD afternoon, time for an after lunch nap and a spot of knitting 😄
