6 June Return to Kent

A busy day travelling back to Kent. A repeat of my journey last week but in reverse. Still with 2 hold ups due to road works. 

I've decided that someone must be carrying out a research experiment on the drivers on the M25 as there doesn't seem to be any actual work going on! They must just be watching to see how drivers react when confronted with endless speed restrictions and lane closures whilst passing miles of cones and nothing where you'd expect to see activity. Definitely very frustrating especially as they're saying it's going on until summer 2025!!

Anyway I managed to get back and then out again on a Bluewater shopping trip with Amy. A successful bit of retail therapy.

On our drive there I noticed the traffic on the slip road back in our direction was really building up so I asked Amy to remind me to take the M20 back. Unfortunately not a good idea 😬.

As we approached the turn off before ours there was an accident warning sign (one with a car in its roof) and made the comment that I'd never seen an accident with a car on its roof.

At the point we stopped we were about 10 cars back from the incident. All we could see was flashing lights in the distance.

Watching the 3 fire engines and ambulance whizz up the opposite side of the motorway and then past us 7 minutes later (we timed it during our just under an hour's wait!).

When we eventually got going it wasn't quite a car on its roof but a car up the bank, at an angle and facing the wrong way. Luckily the driver was being treated and looked ok.

We eventually got back by 8pm for a late dinner and feet up.
