24 October Historic Trail in L'Escala

A slightly overcast start to the day which gradually cleared as the morning went on.

We eventually got ourselves organised and drove south to the seaside town of L'Escala mostly known for it's salt and anchovies. However today we were on a trail around the town following an historic trail.

The public washing (for clothes) area used in the late 1700s.

One of the lookout towers in the area - Torre de Pedro.

The sea looked tempting, especially as we didn't spot any jellyfish today.

We even managed to find a geocache on route. This one did take some finding but Paul's perseverance paid off.

An entertaining brass sculpture of musicians on the promenade.

Ian trying to work out how this tree is still alive, especially as it doesn't have any centre.

Our plans were to return for a late lunch, which we had gone 3pm, but as we were eating out tonight we didn't have too much. Then a quiet afternoon before dinner out in La Bola tonight.

With Paul and Kate off on Saturday tomorrow it will be the last chance for a bike ride for them. I think plans are for a trip out in the morning before we return them back to our friends up in the hills.
